Real Estate Lawyer

Summary of Position:

As an experienced commercial and residential real estate lawyer, you will join our dynamic team in the real estate practice group at our Mississauga office.

Key Responsibilities:

-Preparation of legal documents with regards to commercial real estate transactions

-Handle all real estate related legal issues, including transfers of titles and deeds, construction, mortgage concerns, and zoning

-Provide legal advice to clients in a timely and courteous manner

-Achieve requisite revenue targets

-Provide quick turnaround and high-quality output in work product

-Be active and committed to business development opportunities to advance the profile and growth of the firm

-Remain involved in training, education, technical and personal development activities to meet the strategic goals and objectives of the firm

-Supports other lawyers as directed.

-Provide legal advice to individuals and organizations

-Prepare resolutions and forms

-Able to complete residential and commercial transactions independently with minimum supervision

-Conduct and review title searches and complete purchases and sales

-Able to draft a variety of documents and information and the distribution of such for review during the due diligence process

-Coordinate the collection of documents for transactions etc

-Work closely with senior Partners regarding the status of real estate transactions, including closings

-Set deadlines for submission and communicate outstanding documentation requirements

Skills:

-Possess a broad foundation of legal concepts, experience and applications relevant to the practice of residential and commercial real estate law

-Ability to deal with changing priorities and busy practices

-Meeting strict deadlines with excellent multi-tasking and problem solving skills

-Excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication skills and client service skills

-Ability to manage a large volume of work

-Ability to work with strong personalities, while under pressure

-Confident and dependable with strong initiative and the ability to work both independently and in a team oriented atmosphere

Education and Experience:

-Member of the Law Society of Upper Canada

-A minimum of 2 years experience in the Real Estate field

-Experience with Teraview, PPSA electronic filing systems, Ereg and Conveyancer

-Experience in secured financing transactions, preferably working with Banks as clients, and with first applications will be an asset
